2006-02-22 19:34:16edgy1632Rxh7+ also wins quickly
2007-12-20 20:57:56mykingislonely1781er- how?
2008-02-26 13:44:50tomohawk1818Edgy is right. 1...Kxh7 2.Qh5+ Kg7 3.Qh6+ Kg8 4.g6 looks totally crushing.
2008-05-16 01:29:19JamesBJames1637I haven't looked at the above variation in an engine, but doesn't Nxg6 totally crush that "totally crushing" line?
2008-07-21 18:29:30tomohawk1818No,because the f-pawn is pinned, therefore Qxg6+ is indeed crushing. ;-)
2009-01-29 08:32:28tdemedts1636it's true that Qh5 is much quicker, but indeed Rxh7+ is also winning (checked it with an engine to be 100% sure). after 4...Nxg6 (still the best move) 5.Qxg6+ Kh8 6.Qh5+ Kg8 white has 7.Bg5, and mate is unavoidable (mate in 5 or so).
2009-02-05 17:31:46UriBlass1742blundered by Rxh7+ after long thinking when considered both Rxh7+ and Qh5 and did not see Qh5 Rh8 Qxf7 mate
2010-02-23 04:24:26inkwire1667Ditto Edgy. Funny how Uri and I both saw the Rxh7+ line before the much simpler Qh5xf7.

2012-02-14 21:52:41chessisajedrez1746Played the Rh7+, what else? Won't dispute that the solution leads to a sure mate. Decisive is better than crushing.
2012-02-21 09:11:32Garryback1679dual - no star
2017-08-09 13:32:31Bisonratte1549jep, dual. Rh7+ also fits the bill.
