2013-03-08 17:50:42luffyanderssen1619well, Qxf4 gives white +21 points according to Fritz, as opposed to the mate in 4 for Qc3 so I'm not so sure that I like this one THAT much.
2017-08-07 14:42:10floreatdunum1696This problem is a great example of how poorly thought out, some of the CTS problem set is, and I deliberately give it one star. As luffyanderssen points out 2. Qxf4 is also correct.
2017-08-07 14:44:19floreatdunum1696I set Stockfish on this, fast i7, 24GB RAM. Immediately it leaps to +95 pawns for 2. Qxf4, before qucikly thereafter coming to a stable verdict of mate in 11. Examining the moves of that mate in 11, all black does is throw away all his pieces in a despera
2017-08-07 14:45:54floreatdunum1696Crap problem. Event 2. Qh4 is a viable solution, which Stockfish initially assigns +4.95, before leaping to +15 fairly quickly, before I got bored of the exercise of working out exactly how rubbish this junk is.
2017-08-07 14:46:38floreatdunum1696Examining the moves of that mate in 11, all black does is throw away all his pieces in a desperate attempt to stave off the inevitable mate.
2017-08-08 18:41:05chessisajedrez1758As a lesson, I like the solution because it stresses the importance of the diagonal. As a problem, @floreatdunum makes a strong argument for a dual.
